OPTHYCS is a finalist for the Best Innovation Award category at the Clean Hydrogen Partnership Awards 2025

OPTHYCS has been honoured with one of the six finalist positions at the Best Innovation Award from the Clean Hydrogen Partnership Awards 2025. Selected out of a pool with more than 100 projects, OPTHYCS has been recognised thanks to our approach to developing an integrated software solution for hydrogen leak detection, powered by advanced fibre-optic technologies, led by our partner FEBUS Optics. The award was presented on Monday November 24, in Brussels, Belgium, during the EU Hydrogen Research & Innovation Days 2025.

This distinction underscores how OPTHYCS is driving meaningful impact in the clean energy landscape, delivering world-class technological solutions and supporting the transition toward a fully decarbonised economy. In this case, the jury has highlighted the new FrontEnd platform developed in the project, which leverages machine learning algorithms for intelligent data processing and enhanced system visualisation. The platform is designed to improve communication with end users while significantly increasing the safety, efficiency, and reliability of hydrogen infrastructures.

In addition, OPTHYCS was also featured on Tuesday, November 25, during the “Cross-Cutting Aspects – Safety and Pre-Normative Research for Standardisation” panel. In this case, the project was presented by Alberto Garcia Hombrados, Project Officer in the Clean Hydrogen Partnership (CHP), as an example of an initiative sponsored by the CHP in the areas of safety, Pre-Normative Research on Standardization, and the promotion of regulations, codes, and standards.

The OPTHYCS team extends its gratitude to the jury for the nomination and to everyone who supported the initiative and voted for the project. Also, we take advantage to congratulate the HyP3D project, the winner of the award.
